Born Again (The first time is baptism) John 3:3, 5 "Jesus answered and said..., Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, ...except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." The first spiritual rebirth is baptism.
And again, and again, and again. (Continuously being reborn. Partaking of sacrament). Alma 5:26 "And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?" From this passage we see that people who have felt a change of heart, born again, can fall back and lose that feeling. How can one feel again that experience at baptism? When we take the sacrament, we renew not only our baptismal covenants but “all covenants entered into with the Lord.” President Joseph Fielding Smith adds: “We cannot retain the Spirit of the Lord if we do not consistently comply with this commandment” We are spiritually reborn again every time we partake of the sacrament.
Born again, and again, and again, and again. But why multiple times?
